FAQ Microchanneling —

  • It can improve the overall tone and texture of the skin, helping to improve fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, pigmentation, stretch marks and more. On the scalp it can help regrow hair.

  • A series of 4 - 6 is typically recommended to achieve optimal results depending on individual condition and response.

    After achieving desired results, yearly maintenance treatments are suggested to keep up with results.

    Microchanneling can be done every 4 - 6 weeks.

  • We start by prepping and numbing your skin.

    Your skin will be flushed (pink) for about 1 - 2 hours after this treatment. The following days your skin may feel a little tight or dry, almost like a sunburn.

  • Aftercare instructions will always be provided and available to you after your service.

    Today —

    • Keep skin clean

    • If your skin feels dry, tight or itchy, wash your hands and pat on some water

    • There is no need to wash your face the night of. If you choose to wash your face tonight, use a gentle, basic cleanser with no actives. Sarah suggests Dermathod Revive Cleansing Gel

    Day 1 - 7 —

    • You may clean your face as usual with a gentle, basic cleanser

    • Make sure you are keeping the skin hydrated with a gentle moisturizer, especially when your skin feels dry, tight, or itchy.

    • Don’t use any actives ingredient products (i.e. retinolas, hydroquinone, AHA’s/BHA’s, or scrubs for the first 5 days post - procedure

    • Make sure to wear SPF daily!

    Days 7+ —

    • A week after the microchanneling procedure, most clients notice their skin is smoother and more radiant. Continue to keep skin hydrated and using SPF daily

    • Depending on the client, you may resume use of actives.

    • Pregnant or nursing

    • Accutane within the last 6 - 12 months

    • Keloid scars

    • Currently receiving cancer treatments or within the last 6 months

    • Active inflammatory conditions

    • History of actinic keratosis

    • History of active Herpes Simple infections (client can pre medicate or avoid working around the lip area)

    • Uncontrolled diabetes

    • Raised moles or warts on targeted area

    • Scleroderma

    • Collagen vascular diseases

    • Active bacterial or fungal infection

    • Immunosuppression

    • Fillers or any injectables less than 2 weeks

    • Scars less than 6 months old (ask for clearance from treating physician)

    • Hemophilia/Blood clotting problems

    Certain conditions may be cleared by your physician with a clearance letter to perform service.
